The story is about Hedgie who finds a stocking and pokes his nose in and the stocking gets stuck on his prickles. One by one the farm animals see Hedgie with the stocking who is pretending that he is wearing a hat. Jan Brett's luminous paintings of a Scandinavian farm are bathed in northern light, in this delightfully companion book to The Mitten.

I enjoyed these books for their beautiful illustrations and of course the imaginative and captivating stories. They truly keep the younger children interested to see what happens next!
