The Mitten

Jan Brett has created a dramatic and beautiful picture book. She brings the animals to life with warmth and humour and according to the Ukrainian tradition from which the story comes from. How the eight animals find comfort in the mitten is amazing and only she could do this.

    I love Jan Brett books! What a wonderful idea for a blog! I have used the book The Mitten to have students act out the parts of the various animals crawling into the mitten.
